Bait Casting And Spinning

Baitcasting and spinning are used most often when fishing for baitfish such as sardines, anchovies, etc. This is because the fish are looking for a way to escape quickly from their current water environment.

In this type of fishing method, a weighted line is used to cast the bait. The bait will sink in the water so the fisherman has to use a longer rod to reach it. The bait is hooked into the hook and the fisherman then swings his rod as hard as he can to try and pull the hook through the water.

If the fish bite on the bait, they will be pulled slowly towards the fishing spot. They will either drop the bait and swim off or they will try to swallow it.

In the case of spinner fishing, the weight of the line is so great that the fish can not even swallow the bait. If they were able to, the spinner line will keep them under the water. They will be dragged slowly by the spinner and eventually will fall off.

When Using This Type Of Rig

When using this type of rig, the longer the rod, the better. The longer rod will help the fisherman swing the rod as hard as he possibly can. He will then pull the rod through the water using a lot of power.

And when it comes to the heavier weight, the fish will have no choice but to go under the water. The longer rod will give the fish enough time to sink. And the heavier weight will keep the fish under the water.

Both of these kinds of fishing rigs are much more powerful than a spinner rig. And they will both help you target a specific type of fish such as the anchovies, sardines, etc.

Kinds Of Fishing Rigs

As you can see, there are many different kinds of fishing rigs to choose from when it comes to different types of fish. But you will probably want to start with a baitcasting or spinning rig.

This is because if you are a beginner, you do not want to make any sudden movements with your rod. It is much safer for you to use a fishing rod that has a softer tip and a larger body.

If you do not want to buy a new rod for your beginner, you can get one that is modified to use with bait fishing or spinner fishing. You can modify a basic rod to help you improve your skills and in turn, help you to be a better fisherman.
