Along with monofilament and braid, there are several super strong fishing lines available. Let us discuss the features of all of them.

Monofilament line

These lines are uniformly round in cross-section and come in a great variety of colors and strengths. They are single-fiber strings and are very thin. It is also less expensive as compared to other lines and is also popular because of their strength and accessibility in all pound-test kinds. Monofilaments come in different colors where blue and clear are general as they nicely disappear underwater. However, these lines are not advisable for deepwater fishing. The water absorbed by them in deep water may loosen the knots.

Braid line

Braid fishing lines are considered as best fishing lines for spinning reels. Unlike monofilaments, they have no memory, so loops and twist are no problem. It means that they sink faster and troll deeper. Braids are so tough that you need to carry nail clippers or sharp scissors along with you.

Fly line

The thickness and weight of these coverings create three distinct types of lines, i.e. lines that sink gradually, lines that float and lines that sink rapidly. After considering monofilament or braided core, they are wrapped in a thick waterproof plastic sheath. These lines get attached when attached to a secondary line, is called backing. This is done to capture the fish in the best possible way.

Fluorocarbon line

These lines are used while saltwater fishing, freshwater fishing and fly fishing. Fluorocarbons are most expensive fishing lines because of their exclusive features. Being invisible under the water, the pay the perfect compliment to the braid. On the other hand, they have little stretch which can lead to better hooksets.
